John grew up on an apple farm in Michigan where he learned how to drive a forklift before he lost his baby teeth. In high school he was a drum major and all-state captain on three state championship quiz bowl teams. He also ran track and wrestled to no acclaim. John is nerdy. He graduated from Michigan State University where he ran a theatre company and joined the marching band. Studying psychology and economics, he began a lifelong passion for working with others to achieve a better life and purpose.
Moving to Austin in 2011, he worked in event production and home improvement sales before transitioning to financial services 2020. John brings the same dedication to detail, pursuit of opportunity, and sustainability in his work with clients that he used building homes and concerts.
John and his wife Elizabeth live in Austin with two dogs and two cats. In his spare time he can be found helping the community, obsessing over football and racing, and reading everything he can.
